Information Technology Research Center
The King Sigismund College Information Technology Research Center was formally established in September of 2009. With an eye to developing the preparedness of the faculty, the departments organized around teaching information technology have been informally cooperating since 2005 by sharing the results of their research in information science. An increase in the number of qualified information technology instructors on the one hand, and the accreditation of the Economic Information Technology bachelor degree program on the other, provided an impetus to the formal establishment of the research team.
Our idea is to have the research center function openly as a workshop. We would like to convince outside experts and presenters working in industry and in other higher learning institutions to participate as partners in our events. We also welcome the students of the college to our scientific conferences. The new Economic Information Technology bachelor degree program’s high standard of teaching demands that our instructors participate in research to develop the quality of their teaching in terms of being competitive, effective and up-to-date.
We hope that our activity will help develop relations between the various institutions and research teams operating in the College, and to make it possible for us to integrate researchers from other research centers into our own projects. Our team‘s main goal is to utilize our research results in our teaching as soon as possible.
It is well known that information science is developing at a rapid rate, thanks mostly to prompt practical applications. Hungarian information technology experts and information technology development companies – from programmers to network developers – are recognized worldwide. As such, utilization of their research and development is one of the key tasks of our research team.
